The answer starts with understanding the typical insurance claim process.

• An insured property suffers a loss then contacts their general contractor and their insurance.

• The insurance company sends an adjuster who issues an initial estimate and the contractor submits a bid. It is not uncommon for the contractor bid to be higher than the insurance estimate.

• The contractor is asked by the insurer to justify their costs.

• Progress stops.

This is where Good Consulting comes in. After reviewing your claim documents and an inspection of the property we will give you one of three recommendations -

• “You’ve got a fair deal, take it” . This costs you $0.

• “We can create a rebuttal estimate for you” This is what building consultants do. This costs you from .5% to 5% of ACV (money received after all deductions and exclusions) negotiated rate based on scale and conditions. Not only will Good Consulting create an Xactimate estimate for you but we will organize and present your supporting documentation.

• “You need serious help, here is a referral” This costs you $0. Being great at what we do means knowing our limits. If your claim has issues beyond our scope we will refer you to the appropriate professional service including public adjusters and attorneys.
